FIRE TOWER CAMP CABINS

Perhaps it’s the minimalist, eco-friendly environment of a tiny home that’s appealing. Maybe it’s being immersed in nature - having everything you need and nothing you don’t. Perhaps its simply the novelty of it. Whatever it is, a getaway to a tiny cabin in the woods is always fun.

In addition to the Fire Tower Camp treehouse, there are three tiny home cabins located on the property - Comfy Cabin, Evergreen Cabin and Rustic Cabin.

Each cabin is designed with a rustic farmhouse charm, natural lighting and a minimalist flare. They each have private outdoor firepits and some have BBQ grills. Comfy Cabin has a full kitchen and the others have kitchenettes.

No matter which you choose to stay in, you will have full access to the lake, the dock, hammocks and kayaks.

They also make a perfect getaway for larger families who want to rent more than one cabin to be nearby each other.

SMITH LAKE

Fire Tower Camp is located only about an hour from Huntsville and 2-1/2 hours from Nashville on Smith Lake in Northern Alabama. Smith Lake is a reservoir with crystal clear water located on the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River, covering over 21,000 acres and 500 miles of shoreline.

It is well known for its diverse fishing especially bass and striped bass as well as largemouth, spotted, and smallmouth bass. Some have weighed in at 40-50 pounds or more. I don’t know a lot about fishing but I read that it’s great for honing your drop shot and shakyhead techniques, top water and crankbait. The best fishing is in spring, winter, daytime in the fall, and summer nights.

Smith Lake is also the perfect spot for outdoor activities like swimming, boating, wake surfing, kayaking and more.

ALL STAYS INCLUDE:

  • Breakfast at Crane Hill Mart

  • Use of Kayaks

  • Lake Access

  • Dock Access

  • Access to Hammocks by Lake

  • Private Firepits

If you’re lucky, you may even be able to convince the owner Billy to pick you up at the dock in his boat with his big lab Ollie and take you for a ride out on Smith Lake to Trident Marina for dinner at The Grille! Never hurts to ask…

THINGS TO DO NEARBY

  • Ava Maria Grotto - over 125 fascinating miniature replicas of famous places and religious symbols created by a Bavarian monk.

  • Trident Marina - boat marina with fishing, live outdoor music and The Grille restaurant and bar.

  • Hurricane Creek Park - hiking trails and waterfall.

  • Clarkson Covered Bridge - a picturesque historic bridge built in 1904.

  • Natural Bridge of Alabama - a 148-foot sandstone bridge that is the longest natural bridge east of the Rockies.
